About Bexley Invicta FC

Bexley Invicta FC (BIFC) was the name of Charlton Invicta FC (CIFC) – south east London and Kent’s only LGBT-friendly football club – until 24 August 2017.

The club was founded to be open to all – regardless of sexuality, ability or experience – who want to play football in an LGBT-friendly setting. Football-playing commenced on 15 January 2011 with a kickabout in Danson Park.

As BIFC (and now CIFC), the club played in the London Unity League and in a range of competitive matches, friendlies, national/international tournaments, and also 6/7/8-aside as well as regular weekly training.

BIFC/CIFC is affiliated to Kent Football Association, and has worked with Charlton Athletic Community Trust since June 2016.

On 24 August 2017, in a ground-breaking development, the club became Charlton Invicta FC – an official team of Charlton Athletic FC. This is the first time a LGBT-friendly club has become part of a professional football club.
