BIFC featured in the News Shopper

Gary Ginnaw was featured in this week’s News Shopper, one of Bexley’s local newspapers, under the headline, ‘Bexley player-manager wants more gay players involved in local football after tough experiences.’

In the article, Gary talks about how difficult it was for him to play football when he was younger because of anxiety and confidence issues and says, “I was worried because I did not feel comfortable playing a sport where I thought I wouldn’t be accepted.”

The piece notes that Bexley Invicta FC has a number of gay and straight men and Gary says the club welcomed him with  open arms, adding, “The club is obviously open to everyone”.
